Blood and Marrow Transplant Program – Inpatient Oncology London Health Sciences Centre is seeking a Temporary Full‑Time Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. The NP is a self‑directed advanced practice nurse registered at the graduate and post‑graduate level, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy in providing independent and collaborative care. With advanced assessment skills and a comprehensive knowledge base in Hematology/Oncology, the NP will care for stem‑cell transplant recipients and other patients in the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program. The NP reports to the Director of Regional Cancer Services & Inpatient Oncology and works closely with the Division of Hematology and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, enhance safety and effectiveness, and lead scholarly activities. Position Temporary – Nurse Practitioner – Blood and Marrow Transplant Program – Inpatient Region London and Middlesex Description Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including detailed patient histories and physical examinations, for those undergoing stem‑cell transplant or cellular therapy. Diagnose and manage a broad range of health problems related to hematology/oncology and stem‑cell transplant care within full scope. Prescribe and manage medications, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and initiate appropriate therapies within clinical privileges. Provide direct clinical care, including acute management of complications related to stem‑cell transplant and cellular therapies. Develop and implement educational systems for patients, families, and staff regarding transplant processes, side effects, and post‑transplant care. Collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care. Serve as a consultant and resource for nursing and medical staff in the area of stem‑cell transplantation and cellular therapy. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and educational activities related to the Blood and Marrow Transplant program. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all care provided and education delivered. Mentor students and new staff and participate in ongoing professional development.
