Position Summary This position is responsible for demonstrating and providing leadership in promoting a strong company safety culture and continuous improvement of safety performance by supporting safety program elements in an industrial manufacturing setting. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Initiate, facilitate, implement and maintain safety and health preventative and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in environmental, health & safety audits to ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, track corrective actions, follow up to ensure corrective actions taken, and update matrix as required. Review and maintain the safety orientation, training programs and initiatives. Ensure that all employees know and implement Monarch’s safety program. Work with production to complete power mobile equipment/crane training and ensure all training materials, licenses, and records are maintained. Track incident/near miss investigations and inspections, monitor and follow up corrective actions with cross‑functional team, analyze data to identify trends and system gaps. Coach and provide support to cross‑functional teams to respond effectively to employee safety concerns. Maintain and update daily safety documentation for SafeWork certification audit. Prepare Safety and Health Committee Meeting minutes monthly, distribute as required, and follow up on all points to ensure matters are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner. Manage safety and health supplies, safety eyewear and safety boot programs. Coordinate industrial hygiene and ergonomics assessment including but not limited to noise mapping of facility, facilitate annual hearing and air quality testing as required. Complete and submit WCB claim forms and assist with claims management and return‑to‑work programs with supervisors. Manage monthly health and Safety metrics (Leading indicators). Promote company safety culture and support improvements and awareness of workplace hazards. Review current safety and health legislation regularly to ensure workplace compliance and provide recommendations for change as required. Conduct all activities and execute all duties with enthusiasm and a positive, results‑focused attitude. Other duties as assigned. Education Required Occupational Health and Safety diploma or certificate from a recognized post‑secondary institution required. Experience Required 2–3 years of experience in a fast‑paced industrial manufacturing environment preferred. Solid understanding of current occupational health and safety legislation. Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities with an extremely strong sense of urgency and high degree of attention to detail while meeting strict deadlines. Ability to take initiative and respond quickly in a dynamic work environment. Ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships both internally and externally. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability required. Excellent oral, written, and formal presentation skills. Proficient, hands‑on experience with computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
