Job Title: Onsite Cost Accountant Job ID: 66837 Location: Vancouver, British Columbia Overview: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their team. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze costs, prepare budget reports, and ensure cost-effective operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.What you will be doing:Analyze and reconcile cost discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.Prepare and maintain cost reports and budget forecasts.Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to reduce expenses.Assist in month-end and year-end close processes related to costs and inventory.Collaborate with procurement and production teams to review and analyze cost variances.Develop and monitor internal control procedures related to cost accounting.Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as required by management.What you must have:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required and must have a CMA or CPA or close to completing their CPA designationExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven experience as a Cost Accountant in a similar role recentlyStrong analytical skills with attention to detailProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of cost accounting principles and practicesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSalary/Rate Range: $75,000 - $85,000 Please email Sean Marthinsen at smarthinsen@teemagroup.com with your resume and detailing your qualifications and interest in the position.
