To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing The mandate of Procurement is to provide sourcing and contracting services utilizing disciplined governance to enable CIBC to effectively execute against its business priorities. Procurement executes contracts for the supply of products and services used by CIBC with optimal balance of price, risk, quality and organizational impact. The Procurement team also provides support for CIBC Vendor management programs and CIBC’s purchasing and procurement applications. This role is within the Technology and Security portfolio team. As a Director of Procurement you will: lead large complex contract negotiations create strong and positive working relationships with the business partners we support manage sourcing initiatives across multiple categories identify areas of opportunity through analyses of industries and supply markets analyze cost models for certain key products and services support the performance of key suppliers How You’ll Succeed Relationship Building – Provide high‑quality support to CIBC business owners and extended proposal development teams, liaison and interaction with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Communication – Interact regularly with line‑of‑business roles up to the Executive level to fulfill sourcing and contracting needs with suppliers and work closely with suppliers to finalize a sourcing deal under a contract. Negotiation strategy – Demonstrate leadership in negotiation strategy alignment and contract negotiations, securing authorizations for agreement execution. People Leader – Guide, inspire, and manage a team of Sourcing Professionals, prioritizing their professional development and well‑being while achieving CIBC’s organizational and performance goals. Administration – Ensure business stakeholders and partners in Procurement are equipped with accurate and timely information to make informed decisions. Who You Are Demonstrate experience capturing business requirements from internal stakeholders and translating them into clear supplier requirements. It’s an asset if you have proven project management related to procurement initiatives and technical writing skills related to requirements to be included in supplier contracts. Experience with Technology and Security suppliers would be an asset. Bold and accountable leader with experience developing and implementing strategic team goals and driving successful team performance through cross‑functional teams. Critical thinking skills to inform decision making and investigate complex problems. Communicate detailed information in an impactful way. Collaboration and inclusive team environment.
