Role Overview As the Director Alternatives Specialist at National Bank of Canada, you will represent our alternative investment strategies to financial advisors and key stakeholders, translating complex investment concepts into actionable insights and helping clients integrate private market solutions into diversified portfolios. Your Role Represent the firm’s alternative investment strategies in client meetings, webinars and industry events. Partner with wholesalers and regional sales teams to develop and execute sales strategies. Act as a trusted consultant to financial advisors, helping them integrate private market solutions into diversified portfolios and support due diligence processes. Collaborate with product, portfolio management and marketing teams to develop sales tools and market positioning materials. Monitor market trends, competitor offerings and regulatory developments to maintain competitive advantage. Act as an ambassador of National Bank Investments, contributing to thought leadership initiatives and representing the firm as a subject‑matter expert. We seek a passionate, dynamic Alternative Investments Director to drive adoption and growth of our alternative solutions across all channels. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field. 7+ years of experience in investment sales, wholesaling or product specialist roles. Strong knowledge of alternative investments (private credit, private equity, hedge funds, real assets, liquid alts). Exceptional presentation and relationship‑building skills. Proven ability to influence, educate and inspire advisors. Bilingual (English/French). Professional designations such as CFA, CAIA or CIM are strong pluses.
