LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Med Surg We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join the team at Bulkley Valley District Hospital in Smithers, British Columbia. In alignment with the mission, vision and values of Northern Health, the LPN promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff. The LPN functions as an independent practitioner, while recognizing situations such as increased patient acuity or care outside the LPN scope that require collaboration with an RN/RPN for support and clinical intervention. The LPN assists patients/residents in meeting physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs, participates in developing care plans, conducts assessments, implements and evaluates interventions, documents information, and advocates for patients/residents. The LPN participates in care conferences, assists with orientation of new staff and students as required, responds to incidents following established procedures, and performs clerical duties as needed. Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating) Bulkley Valley District Hospital is a 24-bed Acute Care facility that integrates home and community care into one facility. Services include Emergency/outpatient, Medical, Surgical, Maternity, Palliative Care, Psychiatric Observation Unit, Laboratory, Pediatric services, Radiology (X-ray, Mammography, Ultrasound), Home and Community Care, and Community Cancer Clinic. Smithers Smithers is located in the Bulkley Valley surrounded by mountain ranges with an Alpine setting. The town features affordable housing and outdoor activities, with a population of about 6,000 in town and an additional 5,000 in surrounding communities.
