About the Job We are looking for a Sr backend software engineer to help build out a world‑class travel portal for users as part of our Hopper Technology Solutions group (HTS). Day‑to‑day Responsibilities Design, build and operate API and full‑stack solutions. Operate autonomously but work closely with fellow engineers, designers, and PMs to ensure high alignment. Explore engineering improvements for the team and the product. Collaborate cross‑functionally with product team, other Hopper teams, and external partner teams. Operate with very few meetings, emphasizing strong alignment and asynchronous decision making. Ideal Candidate Natural drive to fearlessly deep‑dive into an unknown code base while keeping focus on delivering results quickly. Strong product thinking: quality is anchored in the customer. Experience with – or willingness to learn – distributed system development in Scala. Tech Stack Scala backend with GCP services. React + TypeScript frontend.
