OverviewWe are seeking a Financial Advisor to join our team at the Ganges (Salt Spring) Branch. The Financial Advisor provides exceptional customer service to current and potential members by offering a full range of deposit/investment and complex lending services. This role identifies member life stage cycle and provides solutions to financial needs, and/or refers the member to an appropriate advisor. The Financial Advisor manages a portfolio of members.ResponsibilitiesMember Service: Builds strong relationships with current and potential members; identifies member life stage cycle and provides financial advice to members or refers to appropriate advisor.Member Transactions: Processes a full range of complex member transactions including personal loans, retail mortgages and RRSP loans; investment products (typically under $100K in investible assets); opening personal or business accounts, debit/credit cards, LOC/overdraft protection, and related insurance products.Branch Goals: Supports achievement of annual branch goals and objectives through proactive promotion of FW products and services, participation in branch campaigns, and actively seeks cross-sell and/or referral opportunities during interactions with members or potential members. Achieves established annual sales and referral targets.Branch Support: Performs a variety of administrative duties including administration of estates, completion of loan applications, conducting credit investigations, and follow-up calls to members as required.Other duties as required by branch leadership. Uses the Day in the Life guideline to prioritize and manage schedules in order to reach goals while offering a remarkable, consistent member experience across First West.Branch differentiationLending limits will be assigned in consultation with credit services, based on experience and competency.In pilot locations, a key accountability is to build/maintain a strong presence and relationship in the community.Required Skills, Experience & QualificationsCollege or Tech School Diploma (2 years) in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience requiredMutual Funds License required; PFP is an assetMust complete the internal First West certification program specific to this role within the required timeframe2 years in a Member Advisor role, or equivalentDemonstrated ability to identify needs and recommend products and services to membersSelf-starter with ability to work independently and solve problems using common sense and sound judgmentProven ability to plan, organize and prioritize workloadProficient in computer software e.g. Microsoft Office and banking software programsDisplays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by demonstrating adherence to policies and proceduresAbout Us / BenefitsWhat’s in it for you:Mental health coverage and resourcesCustomizable health benefits, as well as topped-up parental leavePerformance-based compensation, employee banking advantages and group RRSP matchingVacation time and flexible work arrangements to support your lifestyleWe are committed to providing a fair, equitable, and competitive rewards package that reflects the value an individual brings to our organization.
