Project Manager- Civils

Our client is a local and well establish civil contractor with a long standing reputation in the BC construction market with expertise in roadworks, excavation, site prep, underground utilities and environmental projects. Responsibilities Take lead role on projects, liaising directly with the client / owners, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the project on time and on budget. Responsible for overall forecasting, cost management, contingency planning, and securing the profitability of the project. Contribute technical direction to the pre-award process, planning, and estimating, and during construction, act as a technical resource for the project team. Review and negotiate contracts, liaising with legal counsel and Estimating as appropriate in conjunction with the leadership team. Review and approve ongoing progress billings. Work with all on-site personnel, as required, to identify and resolve issues, ensure quality control, and support the overall project schedule and goals. Work with the Operations team from the start of each project to ensure they understand the project scope – start-up, QC, LEEDS requirements, and project closeout forms. Create and maintain project schedules in collaboration with General Superintendent and Project Coordinator. Develop and maintain successful client / owner relationships. Prepare and process change orders and extra work orders with support as needed from the Estimating team. Oversee scheduled deliverables with Operations. Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interests and maintain strong relationships with client. Manage resources (manpower, equipment and materials) with operations from beginning to end with attention to budgetary limitations. Requirements A minimum of 10 years' experience in civil construction including earthworks and underground utilities. Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills. Proficient with Timberline, Bluebeam, Agtek, Microsoft Project, Adobe, and all Microsoft Office programs. Post-secondary education Degree (i.e. Project Engineering, Project Management, Civil Engineering Technology). #J-18808-Ljbffr
