Simplot is seeking a Plant Director for their Portage La Prairie location, the largest potato facility in Canada, recently expanded and modernized. The Plant Director is responsible for leading and controlling all facility functions to ensure compliance with Simplot's standards and objectives and has accountability for the performance of the entire operation.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee production and quality assurance to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
Manage plant policies, procedures, and union contracts, ensuring fair and consistent application.
Direct the loss control program to minimize accidents and losses.
Structure the plant organization effectively, select key personnel, and develop a competent, motivated team for both short and long-term goals.
Negotiate labor contracts and engage in labor relations to maintain a productive workforce.
Achieve required operational targets including volume, cost, and quality as per divisional management.
Oversee plant accounting and cost control to ensure budget adherence.
Participate in raw product contract negotiations and field activities for optimal raw product procurement.

Qualifications and Experience:
Extensive experience in food manufacturing, with a strong understanding of food processing and safety.
Experience with large scale operations and capital projects, as evidenced by previous work in facilities of comparable size and complexity.
Strong leadership skills with a "boots on the floor" approach to engage with various departments.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead an experienced, established team.
Commitment to safety, quality, and the overarching mission of contributing to global food supply.
Willingness to relocate to Portage La Prairie (or commute if already located in surrounding areas).
