For more information, please visit www.onx.com. Job Purpose The Network Engineer IV serves as a senior technical resource within the OnX Canada infrastructure team. In addition to advanced troubleshooting, repair and maintenance, this role leads network design, high‑level architecture planning and complex project execution. The Engineer IV will serve as a subject matter expert, mentor junior engineers and ensure customer networks operate at peak efficiency and security. Essential Functions Lead complex network design, configuration and implementation projects. Provide advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for critical issues. Oversee creation and maintenance of system documentation, diagrams and operational procedures. Perform network capacity analysis and proactively plan upgrades or adjustments. Act as a technical escalation point for Network Engineers II and other team members. Participate in and lead on‑call support rotations for critical incidents. Perform onsite work at customer locations and oversee vendor coordination. Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Cisco CCNP (required) or CCIE certification strongly preferred. Network+ certification. Experience / Background 10+ years enterprise IT infrastructure networking experience. Proven experience in mission‑critical, 24x7 high‑availability environments. Mastery of troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup, dig, Wireshark. Advanced understanding of IP subnetting and variable length subnet masks. Expertise with dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP) and longest‑match qualifier concepts. Advanced experience with wireless controllers and access points administration and troubleshooting. Extensive hands‑on experience in the configuration and management of Cisco ACI, VxLAN EVPN, Cisco Nexus Dashboard, SD‑Access, SD‑WAN. Strong working knowledge of Cisco products and technologies, such as Umbrella, wireless, Catalyst Center, ISE (TACACS, MAB, Dot1x), SNA. Experience with stateful and Next‑Generation firewalls including Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA and FTD+FMC, CheckPoint. Experience setting up Site‑to‑Site VPNs along with client VPNs. Significant experience with hybrid or blended cloud/on‑prem environments (AWS, Azure). Special Knowledge / Skills Ability to analyze and improve existing systems and architectures. Able to function efficiently in a multi‑task environment and work under pressure. Expert communication skills, including the ability to document and demonstrate procedures and processes. A strong team player, strong interpersonal and team‑building skills. Other industry certifications (e.g., VMware, Microsoft Certifications) definite assets. ITIL certification is preferred.
