Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) - Nuclear Medicine Join our dynamic Nuclear Medicine team at Quinte Health and take your expertise to the next level With the recent installation of the GE NM/CT 860 SPECT CT and the upcoming GE NM/CT 870 SPECT CT, we are leading the way in advanced diagnostic imaging. These state‑of‑the‑art systems integrate functional and anatomical imaging in a single scan, providing faster results, improved patient comfort, and enhanced diagnostic precision. Required Qualifications Member in good standing of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Imaging – Nuclear Medicine. Possess valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO. Initiative, organizational, and decision‑making skills are essential. Strong computer skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team. Ability to prioritize workflow. Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. Available to work all shifts including weekends, statutory holidays and on‑call. Duties Perform all nuclear medicine procedures according to the Standards of Practice. Perform Quality Assurance procedures as set by department standards. Perform area wipe tests, contamination monitoring, and decontamination. Ensure an adequate level of products and supplies to support daily operations. Archive/ retrieve data to/from PACS. Report equipment deficiencies to the Charge Technologist/Manager. Inject contrast agents/radiopharmaceuticals as directed by the nuclear medicine physician. Assist in the orientation and training of new technologists. Provide highest quality service based on continuous improvement philosophy. Demonstrate courteous behaviour through polite and respectful communication with all co‑workers and patients. Participate in continuing education for professional growth. Maintain knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned from time to time. Physical Demands Analysis Strength Requires frequent lifting and carrying, pushing/pulling. Mobility Requires frequent standing and walking on hard surfaces. Requires frequent walking, crouching/squatting. Requires frequent bending/stooping, twisting/turning, reaching. Dexterity Requires frequent handling objects, gripping/grasping, neck, elbow, shoulder, wrist movement, reaching. Requires frequent fine finger movement.
