Lead the development of mechanical design strategies and concepts for large‑scale or technically challenging projects. Oversee and conduct audits, feasibility studies, and investigations, preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations. Perform site visits to assess project progress, resolve construction challenges, and collaborate with stakeholders on effective solutions. Mentor and support intermediate and junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and growth. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of mechanical design standards, processes, and best practices across the organization. Here’s What We’re Looking For Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering. P. Eng designation is required for this position. A minimum of 10 years of progressive, relevant work experience 5 or more years of design experience with central plant systems, including hot water, steam, and chilled water systems Significant exposure to DDC control systems, including writing sequences of operations, specifications, and troubleshooting on‑site control issues Extensive knowledge of codes and standards, including OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards. Design experience across multiple industries, including commercial, industrial, educational, multi‑unit residential, healthcare, and government Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to work collaboratively and strategically with internal and external partners. A proven ability to multitask and deliver quality work within defined deadlines. Strong organizational and time‑management skills are essential to success in this role, as well as strong decision‑making skills.
