Curtis Memorial Hospital offers medical specialty services, including sub‑specialties such as anaesthesia, dentistry, family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pathology and pediatrics. Position Details Position: Casual Security Guard Site: Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital Overtime: Overtime after 48 hours Hours: As required Payrate: $19.00/hour Posting Date: November 14, 2025 External Closing Date: December 19, 2025 Schedule Example As needed Key Responsibilities Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site. Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities. Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas. Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations. Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Conflict Resolution: De‑escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally. Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns. Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved. Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards. Prerequisites Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a CSA‑approved vendor) Valid Class 5 Driver License & willingness to take shifts at sites within a reasonable driving distance. English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. Must provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications may opt into Paladin’s UOF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding. The UOF/MOAB training is not paid, but Paladin will cover all training costs with a 6‑month commitment to the position/availability. Opportunities for training and professional development.
