A Toronto-based team is seeking an experienced developer to help build a sophisticated sports betting platform offering odds comparison, bet tracking, and market analysis. Key Responsibilities Design sophisticated backend features utilizing Go and Django frameworks while ensuring seamless integration with frontend components. Develop and deploy robust backend systems that underpin web and mobile applications, with a particular focus on reliability and scalability. Establish and manage external APIs to facilitate real-time data exchange between the platform and its partners. Optimize database queries and endpoint performance to deliver rapid responses for users seeking market insights. Create analytic features that transform backend data into actionable intelligence for both users and internal teams. Scope, architect, and implement full‑stack projects from initial conception through deployment across multiple platforms including React, Next.js, and Expo. Develop high-performance APIs capable of processing substantial volumes of market data to surface valuable betting opportunities expeditiously. Scale the data engine by designing efficient Postgres schemas and maintaining high-performance odds ingestion pipelines. Integrate new sportsbook partners by configuring external APIs so users consistently have access to the latest lines and promotions. Construct analytics dashboards that empower bettors with meaningful insights while supporting continuous product enhancement. Key Requirements Demonstrated experience (3‑5+ years) constructing production-grade systems using Go or Python; familiarity with Django is highly desirable. Proficiency in developing modern user interfaces with React (web) or React Native (mobile), facilitating seamless cross‑platform experiences. Expertise in SQL performance optimization and RESTful API design to ensure superior system responsiveness under demanding conditions. A genuine interest in sports or curiosity about betting, coupled with the ability to translate complex numerical data into practical decisions for users. Comfort operating within early‑stage environments where collaboration, shared responsibility, and prompt feature delivery are prioritized over rigid processes. Experience integrating external APIs from sportsbooks or promotional partners is considered advantageous. Ability to design efficient database schemas using Postgres whilst upholding high standards for data integrity and speed. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, containerization tools like Docker, version control via Github Actions, Redis caching strategies, or analogous technologies is beneficial. Additional merit awarded for prior experience in Go development, domain expertise related to odds/pricing models, or previous exposure to startup environments requiring adaptability.
