Summary We’re looking for a Community, Participation & Volunteering Co‑ordinator to help us build meaningful relationships, create inclusive opportunities, and inspire civic action across our portfolio. What you’ll be doing You’ll lead on community engagement and volunteering across your portfolio, building partnerships and inclusive volunteering experiences. You’ll engage communities with our work, including communications and programming, and support community‑led activities that help us restore nature and heritage. You’ll coach colleagues, embed best practice, and ensure systems and data are well managed. You’ll work to remove barriers to access, making sure under‑represented voices are heard and involved. Using insight and relationships, you’ll help shape strategic decisions and test new approaches to participation—connecting people with places and creating lasting public benefit. Who we’re looking for Understanding of good community engagement and participatory practice. Understanding of good practice in engaging and managing volunteers. Delivers team priorities with excellent organisational and planning skills. Experience of improving and innovating processes, systems and creating new opportunities for volunteer and community engagement. The ability to coach and support others and to work collaboratively across teams. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills. Additional criteria for all other applicants A strong understanding of community engagement, participatory practice, volunteer engagement, management and innovation. Experience in increasing community participation and developing inclusive opportunities. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, including the ability to coach and support others and to work collaboratively across teams. Confidence in using data and insight to guide decisions with experience of improving and innovating processes and systems. Knowledge of relevant legislation including safeguarding, GDPR and equality. A proactive, empathetic, and inclusive approach. Excellent organisational and planning skills to deliver team priorities.
