Act as a Test Director and direct multi‑disciplinary employees during testing of submarine systems and equipment. Conduct equipment troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance. Record defects using Babcock Canada IT applications. Draft test documentation and work instructions. Identify risks and opportunities during testing and maintenance. Contribute to solutions for moderate to high complexity problems and clearly articulate technical issues to stakeholders. Draft lockout/tagout documentation and conduct commissioning activities. Be responsive to Commissioning Managers for dynamic program delivery in a shipyard waterfront environment. Other duties as required. Qualifications Strong technical skills, post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent. Eligible for recognition as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT). 4+ years of relevant technical experience. Working knowledge in mechanical related technologies: hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, internal combustion engines (diesel, super/turbochargers), mechanical linkages, rotating machinery, pumps, valves, actuators, motors. Awareness of functional and non‑functional system performance testing in new construction or retro‑commissioning. VCS operational experience, including testing and acceptance of VCS systems. Marine, offshore oil and gas drilling or naval vessel experience. Physical ability to climb, descend ladders and stairs, walk or stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, height on scaffolding, industrial environment with moving equipment. Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal. Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
