Department: PR Business OperationsPosition covered by the Collective Agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 1334 Initial Shift Assignment: Day-Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pmNumber of Positions: 1 If you are a current employee of the University of Guelph you must apply on the internal Career Page in order to be considered as an internal applicant.Career Opportunities (sapsf.com) General Purpose Reporting to the Manager, Transportation Services, the Senior Vehicle Mechanic performs skilled routine maintenance and repair work on all gasoline and diesel-powered licensed vehicles, electric vehicles, tractors and off-road equipment and small internal combustion engines. Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance, inspection and repair of all types of light- and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-powered automobiles and trucks as well as gasoline-powered landscape equipment, such as lawn mowers Performs annual safety inspections on all vehicles according to MTO Guidelines Operates within established security and safety regulations as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act Follows established University and department policies and procedures Maintaining accurate and legible records Participate in the rotating emergency call-in schedule Performing other tasks related to Transportation Services as assigned Requirements Grade 12 plus an additional one-year program or equivalent to acquire an Automobile Technician license, and a valid Automotive/Truck (310S) license Minimum of three years’ related experience Valid DZ driver’s license Good driving record Basic computer skills Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work as part of a team What Will Give You The Edge?
