This is a phenomenal opportunity for Tax specialized candidates who are looking to diversify their skills and become more well-rounded Finance professionals. Polygon leadership will provide training, guidance and mentorship to the Manager with the Finance and Treasury responsibilities of this well-diversified role What - the Role: Reporting to the CFO, the Tax and Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the tax requirements and assisting with the management of the overall financial requirements of the company. Responsibilities Preparing the current and future tax provisions for the year-end financial statements Preparing and reviewing corporate and partnership income tax returns for the overall family of companies Assisting with the review and challenge of property tax and property transfer tax assessments Providing guidance on corporate structuring and tax planning Reviewing ongoing tax matters, as well as issues as they arise Reviewing monthly GST returns Managing CRA audits as they arise Managing the day-to-day treasury function Preparing and reviewing of weekly, monthly and annual cash requirements Assisting the Director of Investments with project financings Advising on accounting and financial management matters Working closely with the CFO, Director of Investments, and Director of Finance and Accounting on other matters as they arise Who - the Candidate: CPA designation (Canadian CPA or international equivalent) Completion of, or active enrollment in, the In-Depth Tax Program is preferred Progressive post-qualification accounting experience with increasing responsibility Strong technical expertise in tax and financial reporting matters Ability to manage complex, detailed work while maintaining a strategic, big-picture perspective Experience in the real estate industry (in-house and/or client portfolio) is considered a strong asset Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
