Element employees make a difference in the lives of others every day. We are re-defining the fleet management industry to be people first, then business – delivering on our promise of a superior client experience. This takes hard work and innovation, and we need more like-minded people on our team.
What We Need
We are looking for a Director, Enterprise Architecture to join Element Fleet Management. As the largest pure-play fleet manager in the world, we provide unmatched products and services and solutions to our clients.
At Element, employees play a critical role in delivering value to customers and ensuring an exceptional client experience. We are committed to the success of our clients, employees, and investors by fostering a culture where every employee can make a difference
Are You:
- Someone who has a passion for translating business requirements into scalable, sustainable architectural solutions?
- A leader with the ability to convey complex architectural concepts to executive leadership, business partners, and engineering teams in a way that drives understanding and consensus?
As the Director, Enterprise Architecture, you will lead and evolve our architectural vision, aligning it with our organization’s growth and transformation goals. This leader will tackle critical challenges around legacy modernization, M&A integration, and third-party integrations, ensuring our architecture scales with the demands of a dynamic business environment.
A Day in the Life
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of enterprise architects, promoting a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence.
- Legacy Modernization & Migration Strategy: Develop a comprehensive target architecture and phased roadmap for the migration or rewrite of core legacy, and mainframe applications. Utilize modern design patterns and architectural frameworks to transition these critical systems, ensuring long-term scalability, reliability, and alignment with business needs.
- M&A Integration Architecture: Design and establish a flexible architecture that facilitates the rapid and seamless integration of acquired companies’ systems with ours. Develop reusable integration patterns and frameworks to address technical debt from acquisitions and accelerate time-to-value for M&A activities.
- Third-Party Integration Model: Architect a consolidated model to streamline and simplify third-party integrations. Develop a unified approach to enable external organizations to integrate with our services efficiently, allowing for enhanced service delivery and scalability of integration points.
- Architectural Patterns & Standards: Build and maintain a library of architectural patterns and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency across the organization.
- Solution Architect Development: Guide and mentor solution architects, enabling them to grow in their careers and contribute to our organizational architecture vision.
- Strategic Business Partnership: Collaborate with business leaders to shape roadmaps and ensure alignment between business objectives and technology investments.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key communicator between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Present architectural decisions, roadmaps, and progress updates in a clear, concise manner. Build strong relationships across departments to ensure alignment and buy-in for architectural initiatives, and facilitate cross-functional discussions to ensure solutions meet both technical and business needs.
- Architectural Governance: Establish governance frameworks and enabling constraints to ensure architectural quality and agility, balancing innovation with operational resilience.
- Lean & Agile Advocacy: Promote lean and agile principles within the architecture and engineering teams, driving practices that enhance flexibility, speed, and responsiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, or another related field
- 10+ years in enterprise architecture, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing complex environments, legacy modernization, and integration challenges.
