Our products under the Yorkville, Traynor, and ART brands are developed and manufactured in our vertically integrated facility in Pickering, Ontario.We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a leading role in the design and development of our next generation of hardware products.About the RoleAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will own significant portions of product designs from concept through to production. You will work on systems such as powered loudspeakers, amplifiers, signal processors, and related hardware, in close collaboration with mechanical, acoustic, firmware, and manufacturing teams. The role combines circuit design, system-level thinking, practical lab work, and support for production. You will also contribute to mentoring less-experienced engineers, and help set technical direction within the group.ResponsibilitiesLead or support the design of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for audio productsDesign and review switch-mode power supplies, power amplifiers, and DSP-based hardware as appropriate to the projectTake designs from concept through schematic, PCB, prototype, verification, and transfer to manufacturingConduct and oversee testing, including performance, reliability, and compliance testsWork with mechanical, acoustic, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure products are manufacturable, robust, and cost-effectiveInvestigate field and production issues; implement and validate corrective actionsProduce clear design documentation, including specifications, test plans, and engineering reportsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technologists within the teamQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalentTypically 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design, ideally in product development for manufactured goodsDemonstrated experience taking designs from concept to productionStrong background in analog and digital circuit designProficiency with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium or similar) and standard lab instrumentsFamiliarity with EMI/EMC, safety, and regulatory considerations for commercial productsPractical, hands-on approach; comfortable working with prototypes, fixtures, and production hardwareClear technical communication skills, both written and verbalEligible to work in Canada and able to work on-site in Pickering, ONPreferred Experience (assets)Audio, music, or sound reinforcement equipment (amplifiers, powered speakers, mixers, DSP)Switch-mode power supply design and high-power audioEmbedded systems and firmware collaboration (e.g., working alongside microcontroller/DSP developers)Manufacturing environment or working closely with production teamsFamiliarity with IEC62368-1 standardWhy Work at Yorkville SoundEnd-to-end product ownership in a vertically integrated environment: design, test, and manufacturing in the same facilityVariety in day-to-day work: concept development, detailed design, lab verification, and production supportOpportunity to influence product architectures and future platformsDirect collaboration with experienced engineers and manufacturing specialistsCompetitive total compensation including health, dental, life and disability coverage, pension match, and profit sharingOn-site gym and access to engineering labs and production areasA stable organization with long-term product lines and a clear focus on reliable, real-world hardwareSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information Technology #J-18808-Ljbffr
