High Performance at Neo

We recruit, hire, and build our company culture around these attributes:

Teamwork: We trust, respect, encourage, and show up for each other — through good times and hard. We’re on this mission not just for ourselves, but also for the people we work with.

Ownership: We all have a stake in Neo’s success — so we go out of our way to do what needs to get done. We hold ourselves accountable to deliver on our commitments — to our customers, to our partners, and to our team. When we fall short, we find a way to do better in the future.

Professional Integrity: We’re asking millions of Canadians to trust us with their hard-earned money — so we hold ourselves (and each other) to the highest standards of integrity.

The Role:

Neo is looking for an experienced and data driven individual with strong knowledge of advanced analytical techniques to join our team in our Calgary headquarters. As a member of our Risk Analytics team, you’ll help to enable a high growth portfolio with sound risk management principles as related to credit risk decisioning. Leveraging your knack for data, you’ll make an immediate impact via development and deployment of advanced analytical techniques across our credit risk decisioning projects. You’ll be contributing to our innovative, strategic, and high-performance team with a mission to improve the financial experience for all Canadians.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead development and implementation of key credit risk strategies to effectively manage the lending portfolio inline with business objectives; credit risk levers across the entire lifecycle of acquisition, account management, and collections
Leverage industry leading statistical methods to advance insights into customer risk profiles
Lead analytical projects requiring extensive analysis of large amounts of data (structured and unstructured)
Utilize R, Python, SQL to extract and manipulate data and perform statistical analyses that drive value to decision making
Coordinate across various teams to develop an understanding of areas to which risk analytics are required and identify suitable analytical solutions
Distill highly complex analytical work into clear communications/presentations for a wide range of audiences
Implement high-value data visualizations to socialize insights in a clear manner

Who we're looking for:

You have 4+ years experience within credit risk management and a proven track record of developing high impact credit strategies
You bring advanced knowledge of SQL, R and Python
You are data-driven; eager to understand the numbers and provide meaningful insights
You have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication to different audiences
You’re self-organized with the ability to operate independently and prioritize effectively
You’re a self-starter who is highly focused and driven to achieve business objectives
You take an extremely collaborative approach and with the ability to engage purposely with stakeholders
