Creative Design Specialist – Skills for Change Location: Toronto, ON We are seeking a Creative Design Specialist to bring our programs and campaigns to life through thoughtful, impactful visual design. Positioned within the marketing team, this role will contribute to brand and program marketing initiatives, ensuring consistent and impactful visual communication. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in graphic design and combines creativity with technical skill, producing consistent, on‑brand materials for print, digital, video, and events. You’ll design everything from social media graphics and event signage to webinar promotions and outdoor campaigns. Key Responsibilities Design & Creative Production Design and produce marketing assets for print (brochures, flyers, posters), digital (social media graphics, email templates, web banners), outdoor (billboards, signage), and event campaigns (webinar visuals, speaker cards, slide decks). Support the development of multimedia materials, including video editing, motion graphics, and short‑form content optimized for social and promotional use. Create infographics, reports, and other visual storytelling materials that communicate program impact, outcomes, and data clearly. Ensure all deliverables are production‑ready and optimized for print and digital platforms, maintaining proper file formats, color profiles, and resolution standards. Brand, Storytelling & Multicultural Design Apply and evolve brand guidelines to ensure consistency, accessibility, and inclusivity across all materials. Translate creative briefs into compelling visual narratives that highlight our mission, impact, and cultural relevance. Design with an awareness of multicultural audiences, adapting visuals to reflect diverse perspectives and community values. Stay current with design trends, nonprofit marketing practices, and emerging creative technologies. Experiment with AI tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Canva Magic Studio, Copilot for ideation) to enhance creative workflows, speed, and variety. Recommend process improvements for creative operations, file management, and production timelines. Serve as the primary creative resource for program marketing efforts, working closely with marketing, communications, and program teams. Manage multiple design requests simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and communicate timelines with stakeholders. Maintain organized asset libraries and ensure version control for all creative files. Track and report on design‑driven campaign performance, iterating visuals based on engagement metrics and audience feedback. Knowledge, Skills & Requirements Preferred background/degree or equivalent training in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, with 2–4 years of professional design experience (experience in nonprofit or mission‑driven settings preferred). Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and Canva; familiarity with Figma or similar tools, a plus. 2–3 years of demonstrated excellence in graphic and creative design, digital marketing assets, and event collateral. Basic to intermediate video editing and motion design capabilities. Familiarity in learning, adapting and implementing AI‑powered creative tools to enhance workflow and creativity. Strong collaboration, attention to detail, and ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals.
