Founded in 1865, TCS serves approximately 600 students in Grades 5–12, with a balanced emphasis on academics, service learning, athletics, and the arts.TCS is seeking its next Library Services Director: an educational leader who will ensure the Senior School (Grades 9-12) library is a welcoming, inclusive space that supports curricular and co-curricular programming while fostering a love of reading and multiple literacies. The director will provide strategic leadership for the library as a central hub of inquiry, innovation, and belonging, in alignment with the School’s mission and academic priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach information literacy, research skills, and academic integrity to students in Grades 9-12Collaborate with faculty to design, scaffold, and assess inquiry-based learning and research assignments across subject areasCultivate a love of reading through collection development, readers’ advisory, and dynamic programmingDevelop a diverse, inclusive print and digital collection that reflects local and global communities and meets curricular needsMaintain an engaging library website that provides virtual access to collections and resourcesEvaluate and promote digital resources; serve as vendor liaison for both Junior School (Grades 5-8) and Senior School librariesSupervise library support staff collaborativelyPartner with Junior School library staff on shared initiativesManage the Senior School library budget and school-wide copyright licensingContribute to co-curricular and boarding life programmingTeach one course section, subject to qualifications and school needsQualificationsBachelor of Education degree and member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing (or equivalent)Master’s degree in library and/or information sciencesDemonstrated experience working with adolescentsStrong understanding of best practices in pedagogy and student wellbeingExperience in developing instructional partnerships with faculty is an assetFamiliarity with contemporary educational research and trendsSkills and AttributesExceptional information literacy and research skillsThoughtful engagement with artificial intelligence as it reshapes research, academic integrity, and information literacyPassion for reading and modelling multiple literaciesProficiency with educational technology, particularly Google WorkspaceGrowth mindset with openness to giving and receiving feedbackStrong organizational skills suited to a dynamic environmentCultural competence, empathy, and sound judgmentAbility to inspire a vibrant, student-centred library culture that supports curiosity, creativity, and belongingDiverse lived experience is an assetCompensation is based on the Trinity College School faculty grid. The salary range is $63,028-$87,790 for early-career professionals, advancing to $87,002-$121,101 for faculty with significant experience (6+ years).
