Medical Laboratory Technologist – Permanent Part-Time Join Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. MAHC is a multi‑site organization that includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, dedicated to providing outstanding integrated health care to our communities. Role Overview As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will perform routine and special laboratory tests in the authorized areas of practice: Biochemistry, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, and Transfusion Medicine. Your work will involve receiving, identifying, separating, and distributing biological specimens, and applying the principles, theories, and techniques of Medical Technology to produce accurate test results that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating disease. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and special laboratory tests in authorized areas of practice. Receive, identify, separate, and distribute biological specimens. Apply professional judgment to analyze test results and assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality control in all laboratory procedures. Required Qualifications Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program. Current professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO). Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently. Ability to work calmly under pressure and collaborate harmoniously with patients, physicians, managers, and colleagues. Knowledge of blood collection systems and good visual acuity with colour discrimination. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Proof of immunization and vaccination records, legal entitlement to work in Canada, and satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
