The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in embedded systems development with a strong understanding of security architecture and implementation. This role will focus on securing the foundations of AMD products, ensuring robust security validation across our product portfolio.THE PERSON:The ideal candidate should be passionate about embedded systems security and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, implement, analyze, and evaluate security architectures with focus on platform integrity and runtime protectionConduct security analysis and threat modeling, identify security vulnerabilities in implementation, and recommend security controlsAnalyze security issues using advanced debugging tools and hardware analysis equipmentProvide technical guidance on secure boot design, hardware root of trust, and chain of trust mechanismsImplement security features including attestation, measured boot, and secure update implementationsEvaluate and implement secure communication protocols and interfaces between componentsProvide expertise on security verification methodologies and testing approachesPartner with hardware teams to define and validate platform security featuresCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive security requirements throughout the product lifecycleLead security architecture reviews and contribute to next-generation security feature definitionsPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Multiple years' of embedded development experience with strong expertise in C programming and assembly language (x86/ARM)Extensive experience with secure boot implementations, hardware root of trust, and firmware attestation mechanismsStrong knowledge of embedded systems architecture, security principles, and common attack vectorsProficiency in hardware debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, logic analyzers) and embedded development environmentsExperience with embedded Linux, bootloader development, and real-time operating systemsDeep understanding of hardware security features, including HSMs, secure elements, and applied cryptographyFamiliarity with industry security standards (NIST 800-193, TCG DICE, TPM 2.0) and common embedded interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe)Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent debugging skillsProven track record of effective cross-functional collaboration and technical documentationEffective communication and problem-solving skillsMotivating leader with good interpersonal skillsBENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE:Experience with UEFI development and security featuresKnowledge of AMD platform security featuresFamiliarity with confidential computing technologiesExperience with TEE (TrustZone, SGX) developmentBackground in security research or vulnerability assessmentExperience with formal verification toolsKnowledge of supply chain security conceptsUnderstanding of side-channel attacks and mitigation strategiesExperience with secure firmware update mechanismsKnowledge of security certification requirements (FIPS, Common Criteria)Experience mentoring junior engineersACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent #J-18808-Ljbffr
