Job Title: MEP Estimator - Commercial Interior Renovations

Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

Position Overview: As an MEP Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our project development process by providing accurate and comprehensive estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components of commercial interior renovation projects. Working closely with our project management and pre-construction teams, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, conducting material and labour cost assessments, and collaborating with subcontractors to ensure competitive bids. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of MEP systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate MEP estimates for commercial interior renovation projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  2. Bid Management: Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive bids and negotiate favourable terms for MEP components.
  3. Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure alignment between project requirements and estimated costs.
  4. Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  5. Documentation: Maintain organized and detailed records of estimates, bids, and other relevant documentation.
  6. Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and labour costs to ensure competitiveness in the bidding process.
  7. Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other industry partners.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 Years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an MEP Estimator in the commercial construction industry, with a focus on interior renovations.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and their associated costs.
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating.
