The Community Recreation Branch is responsible for the delivery of high-quality, community-based recreation programs and services to the diverse neighbourhoods of Toronto. District: City Wide Season: Summer Duration: TBD Shift Information: TBD Division: Parks, Forestry & Recreation Section: PFR CR Community Recreation Posting End Date: 03/01/2026 Responsibilities: Provides a fun, safe and meaningful program for children. Plans, develops, leads and evaluates a variety of camp programs. Organizes, implements and oversees activities and events. Takes action to deal with incidents, problems and emergencies and parent concerns as outlined in Divisional policies and procedures. Ensures equipment is available and in safe working condition. Performs administrative tasks to support the program. Interacts with staff, participants, parents/caregivers and other community members/agencies to provide program information. Works in alternate locations to cover staff absenteeism. Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions. Follows the principles of Healthy Child Development (HIGH FIVE®) in the planning and delivery of programs. Qualifications: Must be minimum 16 years of age. Previous camp or recreation experiences working with children preferred. Must produce original current Emergency First Aid, CPR C certification as recognized by the WSIB. You possess certification in Parks and Recreation Ontario's Princi ples of Healthy Child Development (PHCD). This is a mandatory course that will be provided to you at no cost upon obtaining a conditional offer of employment. You will be provided with course dates and details at that time.
