Job Location Calgary, Alberta, Canada Job Description Fluor is a leading engineering, procurement, and construction company. As a Piping EIT, you will work on piping design, materials selection, and regulatory compliance, supporting project teams to deliver safe and high‑quality solutions. Piping EIT Responsibilities Participate in materials selection for piping and associated components. Participate in the development of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Prepare piping line designation tables (LDT). Specify and design piping and associated components to industry codes and standards. Develop and review piping specifications. Specify fabrication, examination and testing requirements for piping and associated components. Handle request for quotation (RFQ) or material requisition (MR) packages. Perform technical evaluations of vendor bids for piping and associated components. Contribute to regulatory submissions for piping. Interface with other engineering and support disciplines. Participate in feasibility studies, front‑end and detailed design, and construction support. Perform detailed stress calculations and piping flexibility analysis using manual techniques and software. Specify and design engineered supports for piping systems. Coordinate with the piping design team and piping materials engineering to ensure compliance with codes, client specifications and good engineering practice. Interface with equipment, process, structural and control systems engineers to verify piping design. Validate piping loading on connected equipment. Cross‑train in piping materials engineering, piping stress engineering, and other mechanical engineering disciplines. Obtain knowledge of ASME, API codes, NACE standards, etc. Obtain construction and site engineering experience. Work towards obtaining a Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) and maintain Professional Member status with APEGA. Career Paths Lead roles – advance to lead positions in piping materials, piping stress, or overall piping engineering. Technical expertise – specialize and become a technical subject‑matter expert. Management – progress to engineering managerial roles, project engineer, or project manager. Basic Job Requirements Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering in 2025 or 2026. Familiarity with computer applications such as piping simulation programs, spreadsheets, and word processing is an asset.
