The Foot Care Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with foot‑related health issues in clinic settings, retirement homes, long‑term care homes, and/or clients’ private homes. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of foot conditions, with an emphasis on preventing complications and improving patient outcomes. Join our team today Job Description Perform thorough foot assessments, identify risk factors, and develop individualized care plans according to evidence‑based practices. Provide preventive care and treatment for foot conditions, including managing skin issues, trimming nails, addressing calluses, and treating ulcers and wounds. Implement strategies for pressure relief and offloading, particularly for high‑risk patients. Educate patients on daily foot care, proper hygiene, and appropriate footwear, offering counselling and support to promote overall foot health. Follow strict infection control protocols and adhere to best practices for infection prevention, especially when managing high‑risk populations. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records. Qualifications Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care certificate is required. Prior experience in foot care is an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Ability to effectively manage time and priorities. Ability to work independently and within a team. Computer knowledge and ability to learn proprietary software; proficiency in Microsoft Word preferred. Fluency in a second language is an asset.
