Lending focuses on banking and specialty finance, where we are the middle market leaders throughout the country. Responsibilities Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating audits of complex financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables Develop an understanding of the client's business and needs, and become an industry specialist to address client-specific needs Understand and utilize RSM’s Global Audit Methodology Train and supervise Audit Associates on engagement teams and act as in-charge, facilitating field work by monitoring productivity and adherence to work plan schedules Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise Interact with clients to ensure efficient information flow between client and audit team Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to manager/senior manager and partner on engagement Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as board communications and letters Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and auditing issues, including revenue recognition, business combinations, debt and equity accounting; determine appropriate audit approach Identify performance improvement opportunities for team members Ensure professional development through ongoing education Willingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on clients Required Qualifications Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university 2 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and GAAS regulations CPA Certification in good standing or demonstrated progress towards CPA certification, including required coursework Demonstrated experience and ability to act as in-charge on engagements Willingness to take supervision and guidance Preferred Qualifications Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment Critical thinking and ability to work independently Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive benefits and compensation package. Salary range: CA$58,500 – CA$94,000. Individuals selected for this role are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
