Position #: V30595 Expected Start Date: To Be Determined, Posted until Filled Union: HSAS Facility: Mental Health & Addiction Services City/Town: Regina Department: Child & Youth Services Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days, Evenings Hours of Work: 8 hour shifts Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Psychologist - Masters Senior $47.619 to $58.230 Travel Required: No Human Resources Exemption: No Job Description Under the direction of a Program Manager and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Masters Psychologist provides professional leadership as a psychologist in the development and delivery of clinical service. The professional will provide psychological assessment, consultation and treatment to families whose children present with a range of mental health presentation. Will provide expert consultation to other clinicians, child/youth serving agencies, and will mentor/supervise psychologists. Assist with program development and implementation. This is a position with the Young Offender Team that treats youth affected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Education Recognized PhD or Master's Degree in Psychology is required. Registered or eligible for registration as a psychologist by the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists, with Authorized Practice Endorsement. Experience Requires a minimum of three years (postgraduate) recent recognized clinical experience in a community mental health setting working with children, youth and families presenting with acute and chronic mental health and addiction problems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of normal child and adolescent and young adult development and psychopathology. Comprehensive knowledge of best practice or empirically based models for the range of childhood mental health disorders. Knowledge of and experience utilizing standardized psychometric instruments and a wide range of measures typically used with children and youth. Demonstrated ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty across a wide range of clinical presentation and formulate evidence based intervention. Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, values and traditions and their impact on accessing mental health services and assessment. Knowledge and demonstrated application of a variety of intervention strategies (individual and group) for children/youth with mental health and addiction problems in a community setting, including, but not limited to: assessment, triage, treatment and case management. Ability and professional maturity to develop and maintain relationships within a multidisciplinary team, interagency programs and across the community of human services. Solid consultation skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with community partners and possess a broad knowledge of community resources including treatment programs and support agencies. Ability to provide public education regarding children and youth and mental health concerns. Ability to design, initiate and conduct in-service training for other professionals. Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary mental health and addiction team. Demonstrated ability to engage in community program consultation and resource development within the community. Ability to manage a complex caseload with multiple demands. Knowledge of mentoring principles and ability to provide supervision to students and peer consultation to a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation that impacts the work of clinicians in a mental health and addiction setting. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to document and complete psychological reports in a concise and timely manner. Excellent interpersonal competence including effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and an ability to respond under pressure. Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems. Other Information Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
