Environmental Planner – Hamilton Office Stantec invites you to apply for the Environmental Planner position in its Hamilton office. This role is a key part of our Transportation team, which designs and manages projects that keep our communities moving safely, cleanly, and resiliently. Key Responsibilities Carry out the environmental component of multi‑disciplinary transportation projects. Prepare environmental documents for all project phases, from planning through construction. Work with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to identify and address permitting requirements. Coordinate public consultation programs, including open houses and project websites. Analyze input from multi‑disciplinary teams and consultants. Interact with clients, regulators, and stakeholders. Write reports, proposals, and presentations. Follow quality assurance/quality control standards and health and safety requirements. Qualifications Relevant degree in Planning, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering with at least 6 years of experience. Professional designation (e.g., MCIP, RPP) is desirable. Demonstrated experience as an Environmental Planner on provincial transportation infrastructure projects. Valid driver’s license. Strong report‑writing skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Self‑motivation, excellent technical writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Workplace Environment Typical office setting with prolonged computer use. Field work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
