Opportunity Our dynamic team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for an Environmental Field Scientist with 4 plus years of experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout British Columbia. The position is with the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team, which has offices across Canada. This role will include planning, coordination, supervision of field programs and ground disturbance activities, and preparing reports following each program. A Day in the Life Participate and be a member of a 14-person region-specific delivery team, while at the same time leveraging the experience and expertise of the entire 270-person RPM group. Apply your love for the outdoors and complete fieldwork assignments centered around the Central and Northern BC with opportunities to work in Alberta and Northwest Territories. Mentor junior staff in environmental practices including Phase 1 and 2 ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation and reclamation, as well as on site-specific health and safety. Executing fieldwork occasionally in remote locations. Be part of a Canadian-based firm, applying and expanding your technical, client delivery and project delivery skills. You participate in a team environment and work closely with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers. You will be able to clearly identify and understand project objectives, bringing your ideas and solutions to your project manager, project directors, mentors and developing well-understood specific work instructions and health and safety plans. Guided by our Zero Harm policy and rigorous Health, Safety and Environment standards, with your knowledge and experience, support the development and improvement of project health and safety plans. What You'll Bring to WSP College diploma or degree in natural/earth sciences or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of field experience in contaminated site assessments and/or the environmental industry. Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety-conscious attitude. Strong field experience and willingness to work effectively as a team. Your technical ability to troubleshoot and brainstorm to ensure that the environmental data collected meets project objectives. Outstanding communication and organization skills, with an ability to successfully balance field and office responsibilities. Experience in conducting ground disturbance assessments at active oil and gas facilities. An interest in continuing to do fieldwork to varying degrees throughout the calendar year for the next several years. Expect 70% or more of your year to involve fieldwork. A professional designation or a professional in training with an applicable scope of practice is preferred. Experience working in remote and camp settings, northern and territorial regions is considered a strong asset. #J-18808-Ljbffr
