The tides have turned, and we’re just getting started.Job DescriptionHalifax Tides FC Sport Physiotherapist will serve as the lead for physiotherapy services within the organization. Overseeing injury management, rehabilitation, return-to-play, and performance optimization for First Team athletes.This role requires advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership, and experience working within multidisciplinary high-performance sport environments. Our Sport Physiotherapist will collaborate closely with the Head Athletic Therapist, Team Physicians, strength & conditioning staff, and coaching staff to ensure best-in-class athlete care aligned with club, league, and international standards.Position ExpectationsLead physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for First Team players.Design, oversee, and progress individualized rehabilitation and return-to-play plans.Implement evidence-based strategies for injury prevention, load management, and performance optimization.Provide pitch-side coverage for training sessions and matches as required.Integrated Support Team CollaborationAct as a senior member of the Integrated Support Team (IST), collaborating with Athletic Therapy, Strength & Conditioning, Mental Performance, and Nutrition.Contribute performance planning, and return-to-play decision-making.Maintain clear and timely communication with coaching staff regarding player status and availability.Medical Strategy & OperationsEnsure physiotherapy practices align with NSL, Canada Soccer, and FIFA medical guidelines.Support the development of medical policies, protocols, and best practices.Maintain accurate medical documentation and reporting.Liaise with external specialists and healthcare providers as needed.Additional DutiesSupport matchday operations, team travel, and tournament play.Participate in club initiatives, community engagement, and professional development activities as directed.Other duties as assigned in support of club objectives.Position Specific QualificationsRequiredRegistered Physiotherapist in good standing (or eligible for registration) in Nova Scotia.Advanced postgraduate orthopaedic and sport physiotherapy credentials.Extensive experience working with elite, high-performance athletes in a team-sport environment.Demonstrated experience leading rehabilitation and return-to-sport for professional or national-level athletes.Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.Strongly PreferredRegistered International Sport Physical Therapist (RISPT).Advanced needling certification (e.g., Gunn IMS or equivalent).Experience working with national team, international, or professional sport programs.Experience within soccer-specific performance environments.Must be able to work extended or irregular hours, including matchdays, weekends, and holidays.Role includes work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and prolonged standing.Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs of equipment.Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.Primary role is in-person at Halifax Tides FC facilities and match locations.Application ProcessInterested candidates are invited to submit a resume and cover letter outlining their experience and interest in professional women’s soccer to Lindsey.smith@tidesfc.ca , we thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
