Inventory Control Supervisor – NFI Apply to the Inventory Control Supervisor role at NFI. Overview The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and management of all inventory control functions, including conducting daily cycle counts and performing book-to-book comparisons between the client’s and NFI Distribution Center Warehouse Management System. This position typically reports to the Inventory Control Manager or General Manager of the facility. Available Shift Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4pm Responsibilities Oversee daily cycle counts, slot audits and reconcile activities between systems Ensure customer requirements are accurately reported with the timing required Plan, execute and reconcile physical inventories Prepare analysis of adjustment activities reports Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies Recommend initiatives and programs to improve inventory, and implement those programs Conduct daily pre‑shift meetings covering productivity, operational problems, forecasting workload, and company information Assist in developing training and motivation programs for personnel to increase effectiveness Develop and ensure compliance with onboarding programs for all new personnel Manage and maintain humane resources practices with direct reports and adhere to corporate policies Collaborate with Management and Human Resources to resolve employee relations issues, discipline actions, and terminations Provide feedback, coaching, guidance, and recognition to enhance personnel skill development Deliver regular coaching and constructive performance feedback, and administer hourly performance reviews Maintain accurate time‑keeping records Stay current on information, tools, and systems for self‑development Travel to other warehouses and participate in departmental or company meetings as required Train the Inventory Control team and provide ongoing staff education Ensure timely reporting and communication to relevant staff Oversee the entire Inventory Control department to enforce procedures in a timely manner Attend industry related seminars Assist in projects as needed by the General Manager Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operation to meet service standards Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance for a safe work environment Follow documented processes for reporting, analyzing, and following up on employee injuries and accidents Ensure employees complete a daily pre‑flight and reviews daily Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or 1‑5 years of supervisory experience High School Diploma required Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred) Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment Ability to handle changing priorities and exercise good judgment in stressful situations Experience or desire to learn performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma tools Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Excellent verbal, non‑verbal, and written communication skills Strong customer service skills with external clients Excellent analytical and mathematical skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; may be required in some locations Availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the customer Ability to stand/walk up to 10‑12 hours; lift and move totes up to 50 pounds Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head Walk frequently through the distribution center, which is over a quarter mile in length Work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variations; access all areas of the building without limitations Equal Opportunity NFI is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
