JOB PURPOSE:

A hospital client in the Northwest Territories is seeking contracted Obstetrics Registered Nurses to join for a contract position working . Assistance will be provided to navigate license transfers to the Northwest Territories for any qualified candidates.

Tenure: 3 week, rotating contracts

Start Date: July 1st

Job Duties:

• Apply advanced nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) and current nursing practice to ensure that the obstetrical clients' physical, emotional, psycho- social, spiritual and educational needs are met.
• Interpret and prioritize findings to determine and implement a plan of action based on accepted standards of practice.
• Operate medical equipment including blood pressure cuffs, stretchers, thermometers, peripheral IV pumps and lines, and pulse oximeters.
• Provide training on specialized equipment, techniques, and medications, including fetal monitors and isolettes.
• Educate patients and families on appropriate self-care methods and techniques.

Must have:

• 1+ year of obstetrics nursing
• Must have a valid RN license from Canada
• Valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Completion of either Fetal Health Surveillance program OR Advances in Labour and Risk Management program
