Human Resources Director

We’re seeking a Human Resources Director who is passionate about talent development and organizational growth. The successful candidate will split their time between Devcore, a leading real estate development and construction company in Québec and Ontario, and 1Valet, an innovative technology company specializing in smart residential building management. Reporting directly to senior leadership and collaborating closely with management teams, you will play a strategic role in deploying modern HR practices, recruiting key talent, and cultivating healthy, dynamic, high-performing workplaces. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Recruitment & Onboarding Lead the full recruitment cycle for executive, professional, technical, and administrative roles (postings, interviews, offers, onboarding). Support managers in defining needs and selecting top talent. Develop and/or enhance attraction and retention strategies tailored to each organization. Human Resources Management Implement and enforce HR policies, practices, and programs. Advise leadership and managers on best practices in employee relations, performance, and professional development. Oversee disciplinary files, terminations, and HR-related internal communications. Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws in Québec and Ontario. Support initiatives related to culture, health, and well-being at work. Organizational Development Contribute to strategic planning and growth for both organizations. Support the evolution of internal structures and job profiles. Help deploy digital HR tools (e.g., BambooHR, SharePoint) and optimize internal processes. HR Administration Oversee group insurance, benefits, and leave administration. Work closely with payroll teams (without processing payroll directly). Produce HR reports as requested by leadership. Profile Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. 5–7 years of experience in a similar role, including strong recruitment experience. Excellent command of French and English, spoken and written. In-depth knowledge of Québec and Ontario labour laws. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and ability to work with diverse management styles. Strategic mindset, rigor, discretion, and a people-centered leadership approach.
