Senior/Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer Join Wood to lead mechanical and piping engineering for bioproduct projects in Canada. This remote role focuses on compliance, multidisciplinary coordination, and project execution. Key Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and leadership in FEED and detailed engineering, including preparation, review, and presentation of technical deliverables and specifications. Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality systems, provincial and federal codes, standards, and safety regulations. Coordinate and lead work with distributed teams and work‑share offices, monitoring performance and forecasting resource needs. Support procurement, vendor selection, and technical bid evaluations.

Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle. Promote a strong safety culture and stay current with industry standards and tools. Interact with French‑ and English‑speaking stakeholders across Canada.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Bilingual in French and English. Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

Registration in other Canadian provinces is an asset. 10‑15 years of relevant technical experience in analysis, design, specification, and procurement of pulp & paper and industrial process plant equipment and piping. Strong knowledge of industry practices and mechanical and piping codes and standards.

Experience

with design and drafting software (2D & 3D), piping stress analysis, static equipment design, and rotating equipment knowledge.

Experience

with tender documents, engineering deliverables, and vendor technical management. Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑satisfaction orientation.
