This role involves leading the electrical design for high-reliability environments such as data centers, hospitals, and other 24/7 operations where downtime is not an option. From concept to commissioning, you will engineer robust and energy-efficient electrical systems, ensuring safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. This role will be Hybrid, with WFH and 2 days onsite in either Dundas ON or Vaughan, with travel to customer sites.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning & DesignDevelop electrical system designs including one-line diagrams, load calculations, and short-circuit/coordination studies using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.Specify and size electrical equipment such as MV/LV switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, busways, grounding, and lightning protection systems.Produce sealed construction drawings and specifications in AutoCAD and Revit in collaboration with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams.Documentation & PermitsPrepare technical reports, design narratives, budgets, and bid documents.Interface with clients, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and utility companies to obtain permits and approvals.Construction & SupportReview shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs and design clarifications.Conduct factory witness testing, on-site inspections, and generate site test.Commissioning & HandoverManage Integrated Systems Testing (IST) for Tier II–IV and Uptime-certified facilities.Deliver as-built documentation, conduct client training, and support post-occupancy troubleshootingLeadership & InnovationMentor junior engineers and CAD/Revit technologists.Stay current with evolving standards OESC & CEC.
