MGC Mercantile is seeking a reliable, neutral, and professionally experienced Superintendent to oversee the daily maintenance and smooth operation of our 67 unit residential community, Tomken Manor Apartments. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds who are confident, assertive, and able to handle building responsibilities independently and professionally. This is a live-out position with regular weekday duties and rotating emergency on-call coverage. About the Role We are looking for someone dependable, calm under pressure, and capable of managing tasks without being easily intimidated. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to interact respectfully with residents, contractors, and property management are essential. Key Responsibilities General building maintenance and small repairs Minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting Unit turnover preparation and light renovation touch-ups Coordinating with external vendors for larger repairs Maintaining common areas and exterior cleanliness Conducting routine inspections and responding to work orders Emergency on-call coverage every second weekend and select weeknights Supporting building safety and compliance Qualifications Professional experience as a Superintendent, Building Technician, Property Maintenance Worker, or similar role Strong hands‑on skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance Ability to perform small repairs independently and to a high standard Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills Fluent English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish) an asset Preference for candidates living within short travel distance to Tomken Manor to ensure quick response during emergencies Reliability, discretion, and professionalism Compensation & Terms Salary: $60,000–$66,000 per year, dependent on experience No benefits (salary adjusted to reflect on-call requirements) 6‑month probationary period Work Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday Nighttime availability during the week Every second weekend (Saturday & Sunday) 24/7 emergency coverage Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Management and Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
