Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant, Oracle EBS

The purpose of this job is to provide all aspects of database administration, provide technical guidance and support to junior (L1) database administrators (when applicable), and vulnerability remediation would be the primary task.

This position will also handle escalated incidents and perform root cause analysis of any problems that may arise out of IRs and/or proactive needs for business.

Responsibilities
  1. Vulnerability remediation which would be the primary task.
  2. Work on configuration, implementation, support of Oracle Database Production servers and technical guidance of junior team members.
  3. Understand business requirements and design solutions accordingly.
  4. Ensure quality standards in release implementation especially in DML/DCL/DDL & Data Fixes of any form.
  5. Resolve incidents, escalate to management and Oracle Vendor as necessary.
  6. Create SOPs.
  7. Perform root cause analysis for P1/P2/P3 and P4 incidents and/or proactively based on business needs.
  8. Work with the Genpact or 3rd party teams for the implementation of changes.
  9. Follow the required policies and procedures for the incident, problem and change management.
  10. Ensure service performance expectations are met with service levels and quality.
  11. Raise/escalate any service related issues and risks to track lead and/or ITS lead.
  12. Provide technical guidance to junior team members (when applicable).
Qualifications we seek in you Minimum Qualifications
  1. Graduate or post graduate in Technology with Computers or IT stream.
  2. OR Graduate or post graduate in any stream with a course in Computers or IT stream.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
  1. Knowledgeable about the Oracle; and SQL Database architecture.
  2. Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c installation, configuration and disaster recovery procedures.
  3. Worked on multiple Oracle Databases releases.
  4. Perform DB refreshes and installs.
  5. Knowledge of shell scripts.
  6. UNIX – Solaris/Linux – all current releases.
  7. Database user creation.
  8. Hands on with RMAN backup recovery.
  9. Adding of datafiles and space management.
  10. Well versed with Index and Reorganization of database objects.
  11. Change management and apply data fixes.
  12. Well versed with audit concepts.
  13. Analysis and implementation of CPU patching on production system independently.
  14. Understanding of database concept as a SME and ability to provide solutions.
  15. Good understanding of OPatch concepts.
  16. Well versed with performance & tuning of databases.
  17. Exposure of database recovery scenarios.
  18. Experience of database upgrades.
  19. Good understanding of RMAN, ADDM and ASH reports.
  20. Sound experience of Database export/import functions.
  21. Experience of database character set conversion.
  22. Knowledge of Database monitoring tools.
  23. Must have very good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  24. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  25. High energy, results-driven person with strong interpersonal skills.
  26. Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Preferred/ Desired Skills:
  1. Capital Markets Domain knowledge is preferred.
  2. Knowledge of ITIL, integration across IPC (Incident, Problem & Change Management).
  3. Sound knowledge of Oracle v12 Database (PDB & CDB).
  4. Knowledge of Oracle Apps R12.2 will be a plus.
