Local Department Head - Family Practice - Surrey Memorial Hospital Be among the first 25 applicants. Job Summary A leadership role responsible for overseeing the local family practice department, ensuring effective communication between the facility and regional departments, and leading initiatives related to staffing, quality of care, and facility operations. Responsibilities Participate in the Site Operations Committee or equivalent for the Facility Serve as the channel of communication to and from the Regional Department to keep Members practicing within the Facility informed regarding Fraser Health, HAMAC and Departmental objectives, policies, and general activities, and to ensure Regional Departments are aware of issues specific to the Facility In collaboration with the Regional Department Head, recommend appointment of practitioners, renewal of Medical Staff membership and privileges Ensure the requirements of programs operating within the Facility are coordinated Promote health and wellness among Members Investigate and document complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Department at the Facility under the direction of the appropriate Regional Department Head and/or Site Medical Director when appropriate Encourage a healthy, respectful workplace Review with the Regional Department Head the human resource requirements of the Regional Department practicing within the Facility Contribute to the search and selection of applicants for vacancies in the Regional Department Conduct morbidity and mortality reviews Eligibility A member of the Active Staff SMH as your primary site Term of Appointment Three years Compensation Annual stipend $52,693 per annum based on 0.229 FTE presence in the role Closing Date Dec 29, 2025 Applications and Questions Questions or requests for additional details can be directed to: Cindy Pal Administrative Assistant, Family Practice cindy.pal@frasehealth.ca Location Surrey Memorial Hospital #J-18808-Ljbffr
