This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of game development and delivering high-quality, memorable titles. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the player experience, bringing virtual worlds to life, and creating impactful gameplay moments from concept to completion. You will design and implement compelling levels, directly influencing the narrative and challenge of upcoming action-packed games and making a tangible impact on the success and reception of future releases. Responsibilities Ideate, design, and steward the development of multiple levels from initial concept through to final polish. Utilize industry-standard visual game editors and proprietary tools to create, iterate on, and debug levels. Take ownership of the design vision and quality of your assigned levels. Engage in regular, collaborative partnerships with other level designers, technical designers, and artists. Act as a key point of contact for various departments, including cinematics, visual effects, sound, and programming teams. Implement memorable challenges, combat scenarios, objectives, and scripted events within levels using available tools. Actively participate in critique sessions, providing and receiving constructive feedback on both personal and peer work. Present your work regularly to leads, demonstrating adaptability and responsiveness to feedback. Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation throughout the development cycle. Must-Have Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience having shipped at least one Action-Shooter or Action-Adventure console title. 3+ years of experience working with visual game editors. Demonstrated understanding of level design fundamentals, including constraints and narrative integration. Strong knowledge and practical experience utilizing gameplay systems within level design. Proven experience working effectively in a collaborative, cross-discipline development environment. Experience with current scripting languages and level editors. Familiarity with game consoles and associated development tools. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Awareness of accessibility and inclusivity considerations in both video games and workplace environments. Comfortable working with and communicating across diverse disciplines and teams. A strong desire to continuously improve workflows and pipelines. A positive, collaborative, and team-centric mentality. A genuine passion for games and gaming. Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with level greyboxing and scripting. A portfolio showcasing individual or group projects where you’ve contributed as a level designer or built compelling levels, especially for recent game design school graduates or hobbyists with modding experience. An eagerness to learn and grow, as this role supports the upskilling of junior talent.
