Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Transportation The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization has an immediate need for a creative Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) with a passion for building systems that have a measurable impact. As an Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of extremely large datasets, excellent business and communication skills, and the ability to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions. You should be an expert at designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low-cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and into end‑user facing applications. You should be able to work with business customers to understand requirements and implement reporting solutions. Above all you should be passionate about bringing large datasets together to answer business questions and drive change. Key Job Responsibilities Work with the BIE and engineering team to design and develop scalable, user‑friendly systems, data lakes, reports, and dashboards. Write high‑quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle) and learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources. Work closely with science and research peers to translate business questions into analytical solutions and provide insights and recommendations at scale. Develop queries and visualizations for ad‑hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting. Exhibit excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, effectively communicating with both business and technical teams.
