The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of heavy civil construction, mining, and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces. We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join our management team based out of Bedford, NS. Job Summary The Safety Supervisor supports Safety Advisors and Operations Teams by providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to strengthen safety culture and ensure consistent implementation of the Health and Safety Management System. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Provide leadership, coaching and day-to-day support to Safety Advisors. Review and strengthen HSMS, standards and procedures. Help ensure hazard assessments, inspections and safety meetings are effective and consistent across operations. Prepare and present safety statistics, trend analysis, and recommendations for Operations Leadership. Liaise with regulators and other external stakeholders. Identify emerging risks and contribute to safety improvement and process-improvement projects. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Experience Progressive Health and Safety experience across multiple divisions and/or industries. Post‑secondary education in OHS or related field. Health and Safety Professional Designation (e.g., CRSP, CRST) is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to coach Safety Personnel and Operations Leaders. Strong data‑analysis, reporting, and digital literacy skills. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills at all levels in the organization. Ability to travel to sites, as appropriate.
