Data Scientist Professional working proficiency in English is required; proficiency in French is an asset. Mind in a Box is looking for a Data Scientist with strong expertise in Large Language Models (LLM), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to support a growing pipeline of applied AI projects. You will work on real-world, production-grade AI systems deployed in data-intensive, regulated, and mission-critical environments, where reliability, security, and operational constraints matter as much as model performance. Our solutions are designed to integrate with diverse enterprise ecosystems and technology stacks, with a strong emphasis on the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, data platforms, and AI services) in the context of certain client engagements, while requiring solid vendor-agnostic fundamentals, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to design portable and scalable AI architectures. Role overview As a Data Scientist, you will: Design, develop, and optimize LLM-based and RAG-driven solutions Work on NLP pipelines applied to enterprise and operational data Contribute to model evaluation, validation, and observability in production contexts Collaborate closely with DataOps, MLOps, and infrastructure specialists Translate business and operational requirements into robust AI solutions Communicate insights and limitations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders This is a full-time, remote role, with the requirement to be based in Québec. Core qualifications (must-have) Strong background in Data Science, Statistics, and Machine Learning Demonstrated experience with LLM, RAG, and NLP in applied settings Proficiency in Python and SQL Experience working with large-scale or semi-structured data Solid understanding of model lifecycle, experimentation, and deployment constraints Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams Professional working proficiency in English; proficiency in French is an asset Québec residency (or readiness to be domiciled in Québec in the short term) Technical skills (highly valued) Experience with Microsoft AI & data ecosystem (Azure, data platforms, AI services) Familiarity with vector search, embeddings, and semantic retrieval Experience with NoSQL technologies, particularly Elastic or OpenSearch Experience handling time-series data Understanding of security, compliance, and cost considerations in AI systems Profile & mindset Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Strong analytical rigor combined with pragmatic engineering judgment Ability to interpret and align with management, customer, and project constraints Motivation to contribute to R&D activities, experimentation, and—when relevant—scientific or technical publications Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area CA$55,000.00-CA$75,000.00 Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Mind in a Box by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
