NES Fircroft is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry.Job Title: Technical Safety Engineer or Specialist IILocation: Calgary, ABLength: 12-Month contact to startRotation: Mon-Fri, 8 hours a dayDescription:The Technical Safety Engineer will ensure that all changes are recognized, documented, formally reviewed, and approved prior to implementation to avoid potential safety or operational problems and to comply with federal and provincial regulations.the change process and monitor the Management of Change (MOC) process from initiation to completion using the MOC tool in SAPthat the MOC Process is effective and efficientthe health of MOC Process using monthly metricsResponsibilitiesand comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of the client’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken.support to the Technical Safety team to ensure that processes and practices are in place and completed to minimize Process Safety EventsMOC/TDN process for smooth progression from initiation to close-outappropriate tasks and track to ensure master equipment list in SAP and all affected documents are updated as equipment is changedchanges comply with the client’s MOC standards and proceduresto the continuous improvement of the MOC processclosely with Facilities Engineers (Calgary & field), Operations, Project Engineers, Maintenance Leads, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Electrical Planning, C&SU and Construction on the MOC process for projects as a result of a change requesttraining and support for the MOC/TDN processtraining and support in utilizing SAP to complete MOCsand participate in biweekly MOC meetingsand report MOC key performance indicators (KPIs)and maintain Technical Safety Dashboards and reports using PowerBIwith project managers on MOCs awaiting close out activitiestemporary MOCs monthly and obtain variance when original timeline is exceededin corporate/ BU audits and assist with clearing non-conformancesTechnical Safety SharePoint pageTechnical Safety Engineers and other staff in Intelex action update and investigations for Technical Safety itemsBasic/Required Qualificationsyears Operations and/or Facility experienceyears’ experience with SAPdiploma or engineering degreeexperience with MOC coordination would be an assetexperience with Process Safety would be an assetPreferred Qualificationscommitment to safetyto develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholdersto work under pressure with tight deadlinescommunication and organizational skills and independent work habitsplayer - part of a multi-disciplinary teamactively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve resultsto provide classroom training to teamcomputer skills including: SAP, Power BI, Spotfire, Microsoft Office, TapRootApply here or send your resume to trevor.parlee@nesfircroft.com
