Our client, a leading EPCM company with expertise in Oil & Gas, Refinery, and Petrochemical fields is currently recruiting for an: Electrical Discipline Lead You are a motivated self-starter and team contributor with at least five years of progressive Electrical Design experience within an EPCM environment. You also bring the following skills and experience to the team: COMPETENCIES Demonstrated team leadership experience within the oil and gas industry (EPCM) with excellent knowledge of engineering protocols. Adept at translating project objectives to individual goals and delegating responsibilities to the team accordingly. Clearly communicates to achieve required results and maintain project timelines. Experience in brownfield design is an asset. Ability to communicate and influence both internal and external clients with a focus on tactful, diplomatic, and professional dialogue. Leads by example; models competencies of a highly organized, dedicated team player with a client service mindset. Excellent time and project management skills, attention to detail in all areas of work. Effectively manages conflicting deadlines and priorities to ensure project/client deliverable timelines are met. Uses metrics in the measurement and management of performance to support decisions. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead technical team to ensure quality project deliverables are achieved within defined timelines. Maintain/build current and future client relationships. Delegate project requirements to the team, supervise, and participate in Proposals (scope definition, man-hour/deliverable plans, schedule preparation, and resource planning) and Execution (supervising resources, managing project plan, reporting, and close-out). Engage in personal and continuing program of learning to broaden engineering knowledge and avoid technical obsolescence. Create discipline quality plan (DQP) to identify project deliverables. Monitor and review project scope, schedule, discipline budget, and quality resources. Supervise the work of discipline engineers/designers; ensure technical integrity and designs per Company and client standards/specifications. Review and approve discipline project timesheets weekly. Maintain continuous contact with direct reports and review/approve completed work. Identify unusual or complex design problems and provide guidance on design solutions. Complete required forms and submit to TDC for issuance of project documents. Utilize Time-Track to progress project deliverables and obtain reports. Prepare Discipline Lead Progress Report. Work with TDC to prepare close-out report; submit to Project Manager for final signature and return to TDC. Submit all project documents and calculations to TDC for filing. Define Scope of Work – develop discipline-specific project requirements, identify/confirm standards and specifications used. Plan and Prepare Schedule – develop schedule, per department and project requirements; implement when project awarded. Identify required resources; coordinate with Department Head to obtain approval when project awarded. Prepare man-hour estimate and project deliverable list and review with Department Head. Prepare MOC (management of change) if approved hours not met; identify issue/concern and provide recommendation for resolution/correction. Track and ensure adherence to approved project hours or assigned chargeable hours. Proven fiscal management skills to maximize operational efficiency and manage assigned budget to meet chargeability levels, control costs, and reduce overheads. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Minimum four (4) year Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and registration with governing provincial body (engineering stamp required). Diploma from a recognized 2-year Technology Program; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience considered. 5+ years of practical experience. Previous EPCM experience required. Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
