RWAM is looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills to join our Group Underwriting Team. The Group Benefits Underwriter will be responsible for assessing risk, pricing, and analyzing new and in-force business. The Group Benefits Underwriter supports profitability, growth and retention goals while helping deliver a high level of service to our customers.
The successful candidate will also assist with reporting, provide insights to help guide decision-making, and contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes. Provide risk assessment and pricing on new business primarily for the small to mid size market
Conduct annual renewal analyses of in-force business in line with profitability and retention objectives
Perform Block and Preferred Arrangement analyses
Participate in special projects as assigned
Post Secondary education with a degree / diploma in business, math, or other related fields
Strong analytical, organization and planning skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software packages
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, to adapt to change and to offer creative solutions
Previous group underwriting experience is an asset
